We have now introduced 5 minute face to face consultations for patients with a single, urgent issue to be seen on the day.  These appointments complement 10 minute face to face appointments and  5 minute telephone consultations and are intended to help meet the ever increasing patient demand, especially during the winter months.  

To ensure that patients are booked for the right type of consultation for their specific problem, the Partners have trained the reception team to ask all patients who call in for brief details of their problem.  From that information, they will be able to book the correct appointment type with the correct clinician.  Patient confidentiality will be maintained to the existing high standards and the surgery will be able to operate more efficiently. 

 Patients are requested to co-operate with this change that has been introduced to offer the best and most appropriate level of clinical care to all patients. 

New additional GP appointments for all of Dacorum

Dacorum Extended Access launched on 30th June.  This is a new GP service that will operate from 18.30 until 22.00 on weekday evenings, Saturdays from 9.00-13.00 and 14.00-18.00 and Sundays from 9.00-13.00.  It is an appointments based primary care service.  The slots can be booked via the Lincoln House Surgery reception team.  It will be staffed by local GPs at West Herts Medical Centre, The Nap in Kings Langley and The New Surgery in Tring. 

A new early morning phlebotomy clinic is now also operating at The Nap every Wednesday from 7 - 8 am on Wednesday mornings.

 5 minute telephone appointments

Lincoln House Surgery has been offering 5 minute telephone consultations for some time and they have proved to be very popular with patients for a specific list of conditions or issues.  Until now, these have only been available by phone from 8 am each morning.  They will now also be bookable via Online Access from 19:00 the previous evening.  They should only be booked for:

  • Suspected UTI / cystitis
  • Sick absence certification (after 7 day's absence)
  • Continuation of antibiotics
  • Sore throat / tonsillitis
  • Sickness and diarrhoea
  • Depression review and medication
  • Discussion of unusual test results (reception will advise of results from 12:00)
  • Blood test requests
  • Conjunctivitis
  • Coughs and colds
  • Sinusitis

PLEASE ENSURE YOU RECORD THE PHONE NUMBER YOU WANT TO BE CALLED ON IN THE "REASONS" BOX WHEN BOOKING.

Repeat Prescription Requests

You can now email your repeat item requests to: lincolnhouse.prescriptionsonly@nhs.net

This mailbox is not routinely monitored so please do not use it for any other purposes.

Alternatively you can:

  • ask your nominated pharmacy to request the items on your behalf
  • order via the Online Services app
  • request in writing at the surgery reception

Please continue to allow 48 hours for processing.  Items cannot be ordered over the phone.

Friends & Family Test 

The practice is very keen to hear about all patients' experiences.  If you would like to provide feedback, please click on the "Friends & Family Test" icon on the right of this page or complete a feedback card when you are at the surgery.  Alternatively, you can text back your satisfaction score when you receive an invitation text message after an appointment at the practice.     

All GP practices in England are using this simple questionnaire as a quick way to collect feedback from their patients in order to improve their services.

Online Services

It is recommended that patients sign up for Online Services (link on the right of this page).  This allows patients to book and cancel appointments and to order repeat medications, all at the touch of a button from their phone, tablet or PC. Appointments for the following day are released at 7 pm each evening (Sunday for Monday appointments).  Most patients find this a much easier way to book than waiting on the phone.

Lincoln House is a group practice of five Partners and two part time GPs. We are based at a brand new purpose built premise at Apsley and provide a wide variety of services to the people of Hemel Hempstead. Our Surgery is fully equipped and staffed through the week. It has access for disabled patients.

Our practice area includes the whole of Hemel Hempstead and we welcome new patients, including those who are not currently registered with a local doctor.

Our doctors, nurses and all our other staff are dedicated to offering a professional service and this surgery website will help us to keep all our patients up to date with news and information about our practice.
